Originating as a Partnership Firm named M/s Pratishna Engineers engaged in engineering products manufacturing in Mumbai.
As a solely owned subsidiary of Pratishna Engineers Ltd. (PEL), PGPL was established with a primary focus on Hydrogen and Renewable Energy ventures. Evolving over the years, Pratishna Group has become a prominent player in the industry, particularly in Machine Tools with a stronghold in Injection Molding Machines and Special Purpose Machines and Equipment. Comprising seven companies across five locations in western India, boasting a turnover nearing Rs 100 crore, and supported by around 200 skilled employees, the group is a testament to our commitment to excellence.

Pratishna Greentech Pvt. Ltd., incorporated in October 2022 under the Companies Act of 2013, stands as a 100% subsidiary of Pratishna Engineers Limited (PEL), a Public Limited Company. Our mission is to spearhead the Green Hydrogen sector, encompassing Electrolysers, Fuel Cells, Flow Batteries, and more.

BARC Collaboration and Technological Advancements
In 2007, BARC initiated the development of indigenous technology for Electrolysers in response to the Indian Navy’s need for Electrolysers in their strategic projects. Seeking an SME to develop the Cell Module for the Alkaline Electrolyser, BARC meticulously evaluated potential collaborators, ultimately choosing Pratishna as the exclusive partner for this distinctive development endeavor.
The initial design and specifications provided by BARC for the Cell module necessitated the design and manufacture of specialized machinery and tooling. Pratishna successfully completed this in-house, culminating in the in-house production of the crucial Porous Sintered Nickel Electrode—the core component of the Alkaline Electrolyser Cell Module. Following extensive development and trials, the first set of Cell modules capable of generating 15 NM3/Hr Hydrogen for a 2-plant setup was delivered in 2008.
In 2008, the Indian Navy, in collaboration with BARC, selected Pratishna Engineers as the sole-source supplier for Electrolyser Cell Modules for their strategic project. Over the ensuing years, Pratishna Engineers independently manufactured and supplied 12 Alkaline Electrolyser Cell Modules, each capable of producing 5 NM3/Hr of Hydrogen, meeting the Navy’s requirements to their complete satisfaction.
Subsequently, as BARC focused on scaling up and enhancing the performance of Electrolyser Technology, Pratishna continued its pivotal role as the exclusive support partner. The company developed and supplied approximately 16 Alkaline Electrolyser Cell Modules in various sizes and configurations, each earning acclaim for surpassing expectations.
Technology Transfer: While Pratishna has been BARC’s exclusive partner in the Alkaline Electrolyser development, the formal transfer and licensing of the technology took place in 2018. BARC officially transferred the technology to Pratishna through a formal Tech Transfer Agreement.
Atal Incubation Center Collaboration
